As of today, Glossier – everyone’s favourite dewy makeup and skincare range – is now available to order online in the UK! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting for this day for waaay too long. Having been a Glossier fangirl ever since I discovered their YouTube channel, seeing them launch in the UK is a big moment for me. I’ve been very fortunate in that in recent months I have been able to try a whole bunch of Glossier products, so here is a concise list on the ones I think are of holy grail, can’t-go-without status.
OH and FYI, I’m not being paid or asked to say this. I just really bloody love the brand.
Milky Jelly Cleanser. It’s the cleanser to end all other cleansers. The name says it all about it’s appearance and consistency – a balm-y gel that melts into the skin and washes off your makeup. I used it both when I had incredible acne and now that my skin is combination with dryness and it continues to work well. It has a little trouble shifting layers of mascara, so definitely invest in a good makeup remover and cotton pad duo for that, but when it comes to everything else that hits my face on the daily – concealer, suncream, pollution – it leaves my skin refreshed and clear without irritation. I would recommend the Milky Jelly Cleanser over all other cleansers I have tried.
Super Pure. The ultimate product for calming redness; add a few drops to your skin before moisturiser and you’ll notice the difference. I only started using it since my skin has been clearer so I can’t say if it had a huge effect on my acne but Kate La Vie swears by it, and from one gal to another who suffered with horrendous acne, I trust her judgement. My only gripe is that there isn’t that much product in the bottle – only 15ml – so you get through it very quickly, but right now I think it’s the best of it’s kind on the market. In terms of the Supers, I definitely think it’s the best one to get.
Boy Brow in Brown. I need to specify something here – get a Boy Brow in a specific colour. Having tried the clear gel and then the brown, I’ve noticed that there’s a distinct and magical difference between the two: the tinted boy brows are thickening too. It gives them an edge on the other brow gels I’ve tried as it makes my brows look much thicker whilst evenly distributing the product, filling them out and not making them sticky or clumpy. I’m now a one brow product lady. It’s a game changer, trust me.
Haloscope in Moonstone. There are two cream highlighters that have changed the game for me: the MAKE Dew Pot and Glossier’s Haloscope in Moonstone. Unfortunately MAKE isn’t available in the UK, so my highest recommendation now goes to Moonstone. I personally find the other colours in the range slightly harder to work with, however this one glides onto the face and leaves a really natural, angelic sheen to your cheeks. I feel fresh as a newborn with this and a cloud paint on my face.
Cloud Paint in Dusk. Speaking of which… Oh, what can I even say about Cloud Paint that hasn’t already been said? It’s wonderful. It might be the only blush that’s ever worked on my skin. I have incredibly pigmented cheeks due to years of acne scarring so I’m usually a conceal-and-run girl but cloud paint changed the game for me. My personal favourite is Beam as I have a lot of redness in my cheeks that I prefer to be counteracted with peachy tones, but on the whole Dusk is a great all-rounder and one I definitely get a lot of use out of. I can’t wait to try the other two shades and just slather my face in sunset colours.
Let me know if you make an order, or if you’ve tried any of the products before and what you think of them. Now I’ve given you the run down of what to pick up, I think I’m going to have a look on the site myself. The birthday balm dot com has been calling my name for all too long now..
